Introduction
Before you conduct your Backflow testing, we guide you through how to make sure your RPZ Valve complies to the AIM-08-01 Issue 3 document. With safety and compliance in mind, observing the RPZ Valve and test area is a critical step to ensuring safe and effective backflow testing.
CV1 Differential
During the start of your testing, we outline the necessity of flushing your test kit before testing from the high side to intermediate zone and high side to downstream zone. In this video we illustrate how to test from the high side to the intermediate zone, proving the differential across Check Valve 1 and the opening of the Relief Valve. We also verify that Check Zone 2 is holding tight with a steady reading with disc compression in mind.
CV2 Differential
After checking static differential between the upstream zone 1 and the Intermediate Zone, we can then proceed with testing the differential in Check Valve 2. We flush the high side and low side through the high bleed and low bleed before shutting the high bleed to low bleed, leaving us with the differential in Check Valve 2.
